 I have always loved gemstones and been fascinated with their healing properties. A few years ago, I discovered that I had a hidden talent for designing and making jewelry. This discovery led me to develop my line of necklaces, earrings, and bracelets and to start Funky Lotus Jewelry, where I can showcase my creations. Most recently, I’ve been inspired to feature nature’s beauty by using actual leaves that have been preserved, using a specialized metalworking process called electroforming, in my designs. Color and texture play significant roles in the design of each piece. Most of my designs feature semiprecious stones and real leaves, but I sometimes also incorporate other natural materials such as glass, wood, bone, and shells. The Funky Lotus line ranges from elegant multi-strand necklaces, to dramatic pendants, to delicate necklaces of semiprecious beads spaced on a graceful wire, to chunky yet understated chokers. My work draws on the tradition of fine craftsmanship and on my personal vision as an artist. Each piece from Funky Lotus Jewelry is unique, a one-of-a-kind ornament that is designed and handcrafted by me.
